The third milestone in the evolution of the .NET Framework was probably too big and important to ship at the same fast pace of preceding versions. For this reason, we had .NET 3.0 in late 2006 and .NET 3.5 in late 2007. All together, they deliver a number of features and tools that were in the news for more than two years. And still, a good deal of stuff is in the standing list waiting for a new version number and a new cool release in 2008 and beyond. As a matter of fact, Microsoft is fully committed to .NET and is making the platform evolve quickly. In the past two years, the evolution of the software platform didn’t go at the same speed as the evolution of tools. With Visual Studio 2007, codenamed Orcas, developers have a made-to-measure environment with proper tools and enhanced languages.
The .NET Framework 3.5 reworks all aspects of programming, from presentation to the middle-tier, and from data access to services. This 2-day class provides an high-level view of the key features in the newest .NET framework.

When too many releases and SDKs follow one another, getting a clear vision of the road ahead is essential. With several examples and practical insights, the class starts you up to planning new applications using the up-to-date tools for the Microsoft platform. After completing the class, you should be able to see what you need, what to do, and where to go, in order to fit your particular scenarios
